Scottish Child Law Centre

We are a specialist hub protecting children’s rights in Scotland, and uniquely, across all ages of children and all child-related Scots law. Our free and confidential legal advice about Scots law relating to children and young people can be given by email. We’re here to help children and young people, parents, relatives, carers and professionals who work with or for children and have a question about child law or children’s rights. We can advise on all aspects of child law, including: education, additional support needs, health, residence, contact, youth offending, accessing records, confidentiality, children’s rights, children’s hearings and disputes involving the court.

We also offer training to organisations, individuals and schools. Our training courses are designed to take account of updates in the law and are delivered by our solicitors. We are a recognised leader in the provision of training on children’s rights and the law as it affects children in Scotland. We have a proven track record of providing high quality bespoke training courses specifically tailored to the needs of organisations and different roles. We can discuss your training needs with you and explore how best to meet them. Our training formats include workshops and seminars, full day or half-day courses on a variety of subject matters affecting children in Scotland. We also offer online masterclass sessions designed to provide an overview of important topics in children’s rights.
